  • Tawny owls are nocturnal; they sleep in the day when we are awake and wake up at night when we go to sleep!
  • Owls nest high in the trees so they can swoop down on their prey without being seen.  Can you spot the big nest box up in the tree to attract owls?
  • Owls sick up sausage-shaped pellets of all the bits and pieces they can’t digest - bones, teeth, claws, fur, feathers, beaks and insect wing cases.
  • Have you heard the saying “As wise as an owl”?  Well it’s not really true – perhaps their big staring eyes just make them look wise!
