  • Invertebrates, often called “Minibeasts”, are animals without backbones; many of them have a hard outside skeleton like a coat
  • Invertebrates make up more than 96% of all the animal species in the world.
  • Minibeasts are found everywhere; in the sea and in fresh water, in soil, in plants, living on other animals and even in our houses.  There may be millions of really tiny ones living in your house right now!
  • Good and bad; some minibeasts can kill trees and plants and some spread disease.  But many of them are very useful, helping plants to grow and improving the soil. They are a vital part of nature’s food chains.
